Nueces County and other counties in the Coastal Bend were approved today by President Biden for Individual Public Assistance requested by Governor Abbott as part of a Major Disaster Declaration. The approval for Individual Assistance allows Nueces County individuals and business owner who sustained losses in the designated area to begin applying for assistance by registering online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-3362 or 1-800-462-7585
FEMA provides Individual Assistance (IA) to eligible individuals and households who have sustained losses as a direct result of a disaster that receives a federal disaster declaration. Judge Canales along with Mayor Miller will continue to work with Governor and the Texas Division of Emergency Management to ensure the federal government provides appropriate assistance to individual Texans as well as to the state and local governments.
