The Bishop Police Department is the primary municipal law enforcement agency for the City of Bishop, Texas, in southern Nueces County. The Bishop Police Department is a full-time law enforcement agency with a self-sustained public safety telecommunications center, and the department is operational 24/7/365. The Bishop Police Department has several specialized divisions within the police department to serve the public, including the Administrative Division, Uniformed Patrol Division, Criminal Investigations Division, and the Special Operations Division, which oversees units such as (K-9, Criminal Interdiction Unit, SRO, Directed Patrol, Animal Control) and Communications Division. In addition to traditional law enforcement duties, the Bishop Police Department also oversees other public safety services within the city, such as animal control services, code enforcement, and 9-1-1 addressing assignments within the City of Bishop.
